Dynamic Sign-Posting Motorway A8 east Munich

New dynamic sign-posting on the A8 Motorway on the southern approach to the Bavarian capital Munich.
These sign-posts are part of a new guidance system covering all radial access routes on the A99 ring around Munich (further information: Sign-posting in the greater Munich area). In addition to the rotating elements with fixed content, the signs feature several lines of free programmable text. This way, the variable elements can add additional destinations when needed or stay blank to reduce the reading effort for drivers.
According to the Bavarian motorway standard, the signs itself are designed as walk-in-containers for optimum protection of the electronic equipment and to enable maintenance works during any weather condition.
VIA was responsible for the concept, planning for approval, final design, preparation for tender, supervision and testing of the dynamic sign-posting.
