SMASH-EVENTS
The international SMASH-EVENTS project aims at developing a standard for integrated environmental management of large events like cultural events, music festivals, exhibitions, etc. More particularly, it promotes the aspect of mobility management to already existing strategies reducing the environmental impact of large events.
To minimize the event's negative effect, strategies usually include the reduction of unnecessary noise, nuisance, waste and vehicle emissions during the event.
VIA took part in this project as the coordinator of the German demonstration project Nuremberg Night Skate: A large-scale communication campaign consisting of radio spots and posters had an exceptional impact on the event's environmental effect. Many participants used the existing Public Transport offer.
