Tunnel Safety Officer
according to directive 2004/54/EG:
For each tunnel, the administrative authority appoints a tunnel manager responsible for the tunnel management in the respective phase.
The tunnel manager then appoints a safety officer for each tunnel as the coordinator of all measures regarding the safety of users and personnel.
VIA assumed the task as tunnel safety officer for four motorway tunnels in Berlin:
- Tunnel Ortsteil Britz (TOB), A100
- Tunnel Tegel Ortskern (TTO), A111
- Tunnel Beyschlagsiedlung (TBS), A111
- Tunnel Forstamt (TFA), A111
and a major road tunnel in Bielefeld:
- Ostwestfalentunnel (OWT), B61
