Replacement of the Traffic control System for a 3 km tunnel on the Motorway 4 (A4)
Germany's second longest road tunnel Koešnigshainer Berge (A4) has been constructed by the end of the 1990s. After 10 years since commissioning, its traffic control system has to be upgraded in order to match the European and German tunnel guidelines (RABT) which includes the replacement and upgrading of its Traffic control System.
The designated Traffic control System includes:
- Traffic data collection
- Variable message signs
- Traffic lights
- Barriers
- Roadside substations
- Connection to the facility management system (FMS)
- Data transfer to the control center
- Traffic control computer
