A 10 - Berliner Ring, South-West section
Traffic management system
Renewal of the TMS between the Nuthetal junction and Potsdam interchange (A10 Berliner Ring) after an 8-lane upgrade. Variable message signs, dynamic route guidance, dWiSta boards, traffic data capture, weather station, 16 roadside outstations, extension of the control substation, upgrade of the data transfer to the traffic control center.
Originally a 6-lane motorway, the 9,7 km segment between the Nuthetal junction and Potsdam (A 10 Berliner Ring) is being extended to an 8-lane section. As a consequence, the existing traffic management system, which has been built in the 1990s, has to be retrofitted.
For that reason, the existing variable message signs, roadside outstations, variable direction signs and the dWiSta boards will partially be removed and reinstalled in new locations to fit the new conditions. Additionally, the data communication protocol is being converted to a TLS-over-IP infrastructure.
